Prominent human resources firm Brannigans has signed as a three-year major partnership with The Christchurch Foundation, tagging its initial contribution to SCAPE Public Art.

Brannigans Partner Sally Wynn-Williams said The Christchurch Foundation provided a convenient conduit for us to support the city in a meaningful manner and to ensure our sponsorship was effective.

“As a team, we decided the initial sector our contributions would go to and what aligns well with us personally and as a business.”

“The Foundation is a great vehicle through which we can give back to the city where we work. We are invested in its success - not just for ourselves, but for our clients, kids and future generations.”

“It’s great to be able to hand oversight of our sponsorship to the Foundation so that we can concentrate on our core business of governance and executive recruitment, human resources and leadership development,” Wynn-Williams said.

The Foundation was established last year to as a charitable entity to help promote philanthropy for Christchurch community organisations and facilities.

Amy Carter, Chief Executive of the Foundation, said that there were many generous corporates that donated to a variety of Christchurch causes but needed help to identify those that aligned with their own values and interests.

“Corporates are becoming far more sophisticated in the way in which they provide sponsorship. They look for causes that match their culture, that are important to their staff and their clients. They indicate to the foundation the sectors that they want to support with their donation and then we set about drawing up a shortlist of causes that best fit their criteria. The final choice is up to them – our job is to identify those community causes or facilities that best fit the corporate’s needs.

“In our discussions with businesses and high net worth individuals, the recurring theme is that they’re bombarded with causes seeking their support. They want to be more streamlined about their approach and hand the work over to someone else to sort out the detail,” Carter said.
