Emerging from Covid19 - Thoughts and Ideas from Inspirational Female Leaders of Ōtautahi

Given the work we are doing with our Women’s Fund we are particularly interested in highlighting the achievement of female leaders who are helping steer us through crisis. Our prime minister has been hailed by world media as a shining example of empathetic but strong leadership. We also know of many other female leaders within New Zealand and Ōtautahi Christchurch doing excellent mahi/work.

It is now that we need to be having smart conversations to define how our city and country can emerge from this lockdown in the best possible form. As well as making full use of the opportunities that will be available. On that note, Julia from our team has been speaking to some of the incredible female leaders in our city which we are thrilled to be able to share.

First up, we have the pleasure of introducing you to Suran Dickson: Suran sits on the board of the South Canterbury DHB, she was the founder of Diversity Role models in the UK, and is now the director of Flipside Consulting, (www.flipsideconsult.org) which facilitates tricky conversations around topics like bullying or inclusion and diversity. Throughout her career she’s always been an advocate for how we can encourage positive social change.

We set up the Christchurch Foundation Women’s Fund as a way to support other girls and women who are leading change in our community, often at the grassroots level. You can check out past recipients of our grants and donate to support here:
