We are thrilled to announce that Mike McRoberts, son of Ōtautahi Christchurch and award winning journalist, has agreed to become the fund ambassador for the Greater Christchurch Earthquake Memorial Fund.

Mike attended Hillmorton High School before he completed a Diploma in Journalism at the New Zealand Broadcasting School at CPIT (now Ara) in 1986.

His coverage during the 2010/11 earthquakes was critical. Both providing information to those here on the ground and sharing our story with the world.

Mike's support will assist us in growing The Christchurch Earthquake Memorial Fund (an endowment fund). The fund is designed to ensure that the earthquakes, a significant part of our story is never forgotten. Donations will be pooled and invested in perpetuity. Investment income from the fund will be used to make distributions. Annual distributions will begin once the fund has over $75,000 in it.
