Thank you to the Acorn Foundation for this amazing real-life donor story of Edna Brown to show how an endowment fund works and creates a lasting legacy.
In 2003 The Edna Brown Fund was established by the Acorn Foundation with the purpose to give to healthcare causes locally (Tauranga). The original gift size was $67,200. In 2023 after 20 years the collective total is $169,091 with a fund balance of $93,252 plus $75,839 of grants distributed to the cause.
After 50 Years in 2023* the collective total would be $344,277 with a fund balance of $134,247 plus $210,030 of grants distributed to the cause.
