UK Event: 25 Years Out There: The Story Behind SCAPE PUBLIC ART

UK Event: 25 Years Out There: The Story Behind SCAPE PUBLIC ART

Wednesday 29th of May 2024
6.30pm - 8pm

In 1998, SCAPE Public Art began to revolutionise the open spaces of Ōtautahi Christchurch – and public arts practice in Aotearoa New Zealand. SCAPE Public Art installs free-to-view contemporary public art in Central Christchurch, engaging the community through exciting work that is celebrated around Aotearoa and the world.

Join Richard Aindow, the Executive Director of SCAPE Public Art, as he shares the story behind public art in Ōtautahi. Learn about SCAPE's 17 permanent public artworks, the factors that contribute to successful public art presentations, and SCAPE's journey over the last 25 years. There will be ample time for questions, conversations, and insights into SCAPE's future plans. This event offers a unique opportunity to engage with Richard and gain a deeper understanding of the transformative power of public art.
