Women’s Fund Speaker Series Continues: “Give a little of yourself to others.”

As part of the work we do with the Women’s Fund, Julia from our team has been chatting to some of our city’s strong female leaders. We’re particularly interested in highlighting the mahi of these inspiring women as they do their part to steer us through this Covid19 crisis.

Today, we’re sharing her conversation with Abby Suszko, Chair of the Aviva board who shares more about the critical work that Aviva is doing in response to an unprecedented increase in family violence during this pandemic.

Emerging from Covid19 - Thoughts and Ideas from Inspirational Female Leaders of Ōtautahi

Given the work we are doing with our Women’s Fund we are particularly interested in highlighting the achievement of female leaders who are helping steer us through crisis. Our prime minister has been hailed by world media as a shining example of empathetic but strong leadership. We also know of many other female leaders within New Zealand and Ōtautahi Christchurch doing excellent mahi/work.

It is now that we need to be having smart conversations to define how our city and country can emerge from this lockdown in the best possible form. As well as making full use of the opportunities that will be available. On that note, Julia from our team has been speaking to some of the incredible female leaders in our city which we are thrilled to be able to share.

Another Inspirational Women's Fund Winner!

Here’s another fabulous Women’s Fund recipient! Azaria Howell is the unpaid hapori (community editor) of Tearaway Magazine. She writes articles that range from climate change to her own journey with endometriosis and ‘pride’ pieces that empower people from the LGBT community to be themselves and be out and proud.

She was certainly an inspiration to us so check out Tearaway and read her articles here: https://tearaway.co.nz/

Once again, we want to thank @hotelmontreal for their past support and for lending us such a wonderful filming location in their beautiful penthouse suite!
