Become A Patron of the Christchurch Foundation
The Christchurch Foundation was set up to ensure that philanthropy in Canterbury could operate in a cohesive and effective way that has impact.
Our community foundation model means that we are actively working to grow all philanthropy.
Community Foundations are the fastest growing form of philanthropy in the world, and the model has been in North America and Europe for close to a century.
Our core model sees us receiving gifts from donors, investing the capital, and then distributing the income generated from the investments to the donors’ charitable causes in perpetuity.
It’s an investment in the future of our region, for everyone.
The Christchurch Foundation provides our donors with quality information to help them make smarter philanthropic decisions that will make an impact. This includes social and philanthropic aspirations of the people who live here.
We’re building our Foundation with a 100-year timeline. Although we know we are already making an impact it will be future generations that will benefit most from our work.
With this in mind, we are looking for Patrons who want to be part of that legacy.
Supporting us, is growing the resourcing, capability, and capacity of the entire purpose sector in greater Christchurch.

Kate Sheppard T's and Tote's

These totes and t-shirts celebrate our legacy of female leadership here in greater Ōtautahi Christchurch and are a call to action to for women and girls from Christchurch, Selwyn and Waimakariri to continue to act as changemakers.
The design was provided by two very talented artists, Kophie Su’a-Hulsbosch and Janine Williams. The design reflects the mural they created which was launched on Suffrage Day 2023, at 92 Hereford Street.
Profits from the sale of the T's and Totes go towards our Kate Sheppard Fund to support and champion today's outstanding female leaders.
Better City Business

The Christchurch Foundation is increasingly asked by business leaders about how they give back to their community in a way that has business benefits, and more and more we are being asked for advice around Corporate social responsibility (CSR). That's why we have established Better City Business. This is an entry level CSR support programme designed for businesses in Christchurch, Selwyn and Waimakriri.
